Spamming is perhaps the most annoying thing any Twitter user can do. What do I mean by spamming exactly?
Well, if you’re constantly ramming your products down people’s throats, constantly tweeting about your ebook or your services, then people are just going to switch off because they see that as you spamming and being a nuisance. This will cause people to unfollow you or even block you.
So when you’re sending out Tweets, make sure it’s of value. I usually go by the 80/20 rule. 80% value and interaction and 20% sales.
If you read my previous post – Twitter Techniques – the basics – part 1. You’ll see that I’ve mentioned a few tools you can use which will automatically Tweet information for you such as your blog posts or aggregate useful information from your followers/people you’re following.
This way, when you’re active on Twitter you can solely concentrate on interacting and the actual value and selling is already taken care of.
